  • Program 1 – Osteoporosis Screenings:
    Description: Osteoporosis Screenings are simple, painless and take only a few minutes to complete. Our portable screening equipment scans your heel and prints out a report within minutes. The report will chart your bone mass and compare it to the normal average. Our trained staff will explain your report to you as well as provide education about your necessary calcium intake and ways to maintain a healthy calcium level.
    Age Range: 25 years and older
    Eligibility requirements: Must be at least 25 years of age and not pregnant
  • Program 2 – Mammogram and Breast Health Screenings:
    Description: Mammogram and Breast Health Screenings are offered at free or low cost through Jersey Shore Hospital or at a screening with the Lackawanna Mobile Unit. Women who qualify for a free or low cost mammogram must meet age and income criteria. These screenings include breast health education, instructing patients on how to give self-breast exams, what to look for during your self-exams and how to best care for your needs. Screenings are held throughout the year and require an appointment.
    Age Range: 40 years and older (or, if abnormality is found on an exam by physicians, younger women may qualify
    Eligibility requirements: For the free Komen mammograms, women must meet age and income requirements: non-insured and low income
  • Program 3 – Smoke Stoppers Classes on Smoking Cessation:
    Description: Smoke Stoppers classes on Smoking Cessation are available at Jersey Shore Hospital. Each class is 4 weeks in length. The program provides support, educational materials and suggestions to quitting smoking.
    Costs: $40 for the kit, but money is reimbursed to patient if all classes are completed
  • Program 4 – Diagnostic Laboratory :
    Description: The Diagnostic Laboratory at Jersey Shore Hospital is a full-service, comprehensive program, offering testing of blood, urine, stool and tissue specimens 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, as well as remote collection and reporting capabilities.
  • Program 5 – Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services:
    Description: Jersey Shore Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient Rehabilitation services. The services offered are Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Inpatient Occupational Therapy, Outpatient Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.
  • Program 6 – Medical Nutrition Therapy:
    Description: Medical Nutrition Therapy is a service provided by the Jersey Shore Hospital Registered Dietitians that offers patients information and counseling on the following topics: Diabetes Management, Weight Management, Cholesterol Control, Prenatal / High-Risk Pregnancy & Gestational Diabetes
  • Program 7 – Cardiac Rehabilitation Program:
    Description: The Cardiac Rehabilitation program helps individuals who have suffered a heart attack, stable angina or are recovering from cardiac surgery. Jersey Shore offers a unique multidisciplinary approach in providing the quality care you need. The program consists of exercise to strengthen and restore your heart to its maximum function and education to help you understand the disease process and guide you towards a healthier lifestyle
    Eligibility requirements: Must be referred by a physician
